NuGrow partnered with the third generation cattle farmers who run the prestigious Raglan Station to conduct a field trial using NuGrow compost applications. The field trial sought to demonstrate whether above average pasture growing results could be achieved using reduced rates of synthetic fertiliser via substitution with a more economical product, such as organic-based compost. The trial showed improved land productivity, with production increasing by 56 per cent per hectare. It also proved cost savings for landowners with the potential for reducing synthetic fertiliser by more than 50 per cent over three years. Other benefits included improved soil quality via several key soil chemical properties and health indices, stronger environmental performance with lower run-off of harmful sediment into local waterways and reef catchments, and significant carbon abatement.
