We’re Ipswich Proud

Recognising the importance of using quality soil conditioning products to replenish agricultural land, NuGrow was established in 2007 to provide Queensland farmers and landscapers with an alternative to chemical-based fertilisers and support healthier environments and communities.

From our home in Ipswich, we have been able to develop technologies that reduce the amount of waste going into landfill by converting it into sustainable, nutrient rich compost that nourishes and protects our land and waterways.

Our products and services have already delivered impressive results within Ipswich and across Queensland and has made NuGrow Queensland’s leader in organics recycling and high quality compost manufacturing.

We’re working hard to create a healthier and more sustainable future for Ipswich.

Our commitment to healthier environments and healthier communities drives everything we do from our Ipswich site. But we know there’s more to be done and look forward to working with the community and our partners to improve our local environment for future generations.

Listening to you and taking action

To be a respected member of the Ipswich community, we know it’s up to us to continually look at ways in which we can improve what we do.

Listening to and acting on feedback from our neighbours has made a big difference to how we do things and has allowed us to deliver better outcomes for the community including:

Reducing waste deliveries

  • From October 2021, we have reduced our acceptance of commercial waste by as much as 40%, with the aim to minimise odours and allow us to focus on what we do best – delivering an even better sustainable composting service and product.

Removing odorous waste

  • We’ve identified the worst smelling waste and in 2021 refused to allow it to enter our site in order to reduce impacts to the community.

Putting a lid on it

  • Working with some of the best composting experts who have designed similar facilities in large European cities, we have designed new enclosed concrete composting tunnels which will house our fresh compost during its most odorous phase. The tunnels are scheduled for completion by December 2022.

Electronic noses

  • NuGrow Ipswich has installed an electronic nose system – an eNose. This advanced technology captures and records gaseous odours. We are using this technology to monitor our own activities to continually reduce the risk of generating odours.

Our commitment to you

At NuGrow, we work hard every day to ensure our Ipswich facility will always be the best it can be.

We care about our community and will continue to make it a better place to live, work and relax.

We look forward to continuing our efforts to improve our local environment for future generations.
