NuGrow is gearing up for a promising partnership with the Queensland Murray-Darling Committee (QMDC), following a recent visit to Toowoomba.
Key leaders from NuGrow met with QMDC employees in early May 2015 to finalise details of the exciting environmental partnership.
QMDC is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that delivers natural resource management (NRM) and environmental services across the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin.
The team is at the forefront of advocating for the sustainable use of the region’s natural resources.
They also work to protect vital habitat for vulnerable and endangered flora and fauna and educate the community about the importance of sustainability, both in the paddock and around the home.
NuGrow started engaging with QMDC’s CEO, Geoff Penton, in late 2014 to discuss potential synergies between the two organisations.
Opportunities such as improving the health of the region’s soil and water supplies rapidly emerged as focus areas for the partnership.
The two teams have since met to discuss upcoming work where NuGrow and QMDC can partner to achieve beneficial environmental outcomes. QMDC is already inspecting samples of NuGrow’s advanced compost/soil conditioners to ensure suitability to the local environment.
NuGrow and QMDC will both be exhibiting at the upcoming and highly anticipated FarmFest, staged at Kingsthorpe Park on the Warrego Highway (20km west of Toowoomba) over three big days on Tuesday 2 June to Thursday 4 June 2015.
Stay tuned for the official announcement of NuGrow’s formal partnership with QMDC to be held at an upcoming field day.
