Sustainable waste management and regional development were front-and-centre at a recent Queensland Resources Council’s event on 27 April 2015.
Sponsored by NuGrow, the Resources Roundup was held at Jade Buddha’s Shadow Lounge in Brisbane and attracted leaders from across the resources sector.
Guests had the privilege of hearing Queensland Senator Matthew Canavan discuss his passion for regional development in the State.
Senator Canavan, who is based in Rockhampton, explained his belief that the Senate should strive to increase its representation for regional areas, which is why he has based himself in Central Queensland.
Senator Canavan was introduced by NuGrow’s newly appointed Strategic Advisor, Troy Collins, former Chief of Staff to Queensland’s previous Environment Minister.
Mr Collins shared with the audience that, despite having had exposure to hundreds of companies in his previous role, NuGrow’s objectives and future direction were what attracted him to take on the advisory role.
He echoed the Senator’s views that there were significant opportunities in regional Queensland that could be realised with the right vision and support.
