We were proud to be a key sponsor of the AORA – Australian Organics Recycling Association Limited 2026 Conference in Melbourne last week; three days at Pullman Albert Park with the best minds in Australia’s recycled organics industry, under the theme “Compost for Life. Saving our Soils”.
Here’s what stood out to our team.
– A strong theme through the entire conference was this: industry, regulators and local government are all working toward the same outcome. The faster we stop treating each other as adversaries and start building genuine partnerships, the faster Australia closes the loop on organics.
– Plastic contamination remains the industry’s biggest quality challenge. Physical contamination (particularly soft plastics) is one of the greatest barriers to producing certified, high-quality compost. This is why investment in enclosed, controlled processing infrastructure matters. Our IVES project at Swanbank isn’t just about odour management; it’s about producing a consistently certified product that meets standards and delivers real agronomic value to customers like Queensland farmers.
– Anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas are coming. Significant industry attention is turning toward AD technology and the renewable gas it produces. The organics sector’s role in Australia’s energy transition is only going to grow. We’re watching this space closely.
NuGrow is proud to support AORA and the broader recycled organics industry and we look forward to next year’s conference.
