NuGrow expands service capability with transfer station amendment

NuGrow Ipswich has secured an amendment to its Environmental Authority to enable transfer station operations for liquid waste and green waste at the NuGrow Ipswich facility in Swanbank.

This new capability is designed to deliver a more resilient service offering for customers facing:

  • Distance and freight constraints
  • Compressed turnaround timeframes
  • Emergency and unplanned waste pressures

By establishing a local transfer point, NuGrow strengthens regional supply chains; keeping businesses operating and ensuring continuity when it matters most. The operations are authorised under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld) and will be conducted in accordance with Environmental Authority conditions, including the approved site layout and waste management protocols.

This is Stage 1 of a two-part capability expansion.

Stage 2.1 will seek a further minor amendment to enable freshly mixed compost to be transported from site to other NuGrow owned and NuGrow supplier facilities; creating an all-weather, multi-site processing arrangement to support operational flexibility and continuity.

Stage 2.2 runs in parallel: NuGrow awaits a decision from Ipswich City Council on its Other Change application, which will formalise the land use and lock in this capability for the long term.

This milestone also supports local employment in organics manufacturing and processing in Ipswich.

Outcomes like this are earned.

They reflect a focused NuGrow team and strong contractor base providing strong technical, planning and regulatory expertise.

We are executing on a clear objective:

Fix the economics. Fix the environment.
